My Goa Tour with Family (October-2017) By CAR

Time Spent with Family and Friends is the best time spent

It was October-2017, and Dasara Holidays to Schools in Karnataka. Me and Ranveer planned for Goa Trip with family members. (AS this is the only time when Beaches are calm and quite)

Total Distance: 612 km (Bangalore-Dharwad-Tanai Ghat-Anmod-Mollem-Ponda-Bhandoda-Mardol-Panjim)
So plan was to go smoothly to Goa (Panjim) with 5 days tour from Bangalore to Panjim (Via Mollem-Ponda).

First Day:

  • Started from Bangalore @6:00AM, headed towards Chitradurga (Bangalore Mumbai/Pune Highway)
  • Hot Idli-Wada Sambar dip, Breakfast done on the way to Chitradurga.
  • Reached Chitradurg @ 9:40 AM. It’s a fort build in stones by Nayaks of Chitradurga. The Fort is in well maintained state and to force the stone to speak, local guide is needed.
  • Fort Entry Fees
  • Camera Fees
  • Guide is a Separate Entity (200 to 300/-)

After spending quality of time about 3 hours, started towards Dharwad.
    • Since in Goa Hotel/Resort Check-in/Out time is from 12 noon, Dharwad was our Next stop to halt, we planned in between.
    • It has attached Bar and can serve Food in the room.
    • Room service was good.
    • Since it was Navaratri Days we preferred Veg-food and preferred Mayura Restaurant which was just 500m from Ankita Residency .
    • Food was up to the mark
    Second Day:
    • We had enough time to reach to our resort in GOA.Next day our journey to Panjim started from Dharwad @ 6:00 AM via Tanai Ghat to Mollem and Ponda.Doodh Sagar was on the way but we missed it as the entry was closed for a month because of maintenance of the railway track.
    • From Dharwad to Ponda, it is a zig-Zag Road and a single road which passes through the Tanai Ghat. Road is good But in between, it will be bad as there are more curves and less maintenance. there is a both side traffic on this manageable road.
    • After entering into GOA first filled the Petrol Tank full and then started for further Journey. First Place to visit was “Shree Shantadurga Laxmi Narsimha Temple”. The calm place and must to visit @ 9:30 am. Second Place to Visit was “Mangeshi Temple” @11:30 followed by “Maha Lakshmi TempleWe were lucky enough, that after Darshan we were sitting in the Mangeshi temple, when Actor Nana Patekar arrived with his wife for Lord Mangesh's blessings. we were unable to identify him at first site.
    • Next Destination was local Goa Sightseeing you can get those spots in every travel blogs.
    • By 2:00PM we reached our Resort “Estrela Do MarBaga beach Calangute.

    And our enjoyment started...

The waves and salty Water of Arabian Sea greeted us.
We enjoyed every drive in the Sea, till Evening 8:00 PM.

    • Restaurant of Estrela Do Mar, was very good. You have both options Buffet or "à la carte". We had kids and there was no discount for kids, so choose à la carte. The food was tasty and ambiance was good with small musical show of Hindi songs.
    • Slept at 11:30 PM with plan of next day to execute.
    Third Day:
    • Day Started by Morning 6:30am. We all were in love with the Waves of Arabian Sea. Enjoyed the Sea waves till 9:30 am and then join the Breakfast at the restaurant. We got complimentary Breakfast in the resort. Breakfast with live Saxophone was also very nice.
    • Then our naughty kids forced us to play some time in the Swimming pool of the Resort and we enjoyed the pool till 12:00 pm
    • Left Estrela Do Mar by 1:00pm and Visited Candolim beach we enjoyed for almost 1 more hour in sand walking from Baga beach to Candolim beach.
    • Now we were almost fully enjoyed the Sea shore. So we booked Treebo Green Park, Mapusa Goa. This is a good hotel to stay. Food was just OK. After Lunch we visited AGHODA Fort (Baagi2 film scenes were shot here).

    Fourth Day:
    • Visited Local market in Mapusa. Though cashew nut was at the same rate but was looking different, we purchased it with Cocum.
    • Visites Dona Paula the spot you can find in most favorite of the Hindi films (Singham, Ek duje ke liye)

    • Headed towards Dharwad @2:30PM. But on the way there was a dense fog, which was again enjoyable

    • By 7:00 PM Halt @ Ankita Residency Dharwad.
    Fifth Day:
Started for Bangalore at 9:30AM and reached Home by 5:30PM on the day of Vijaya Dashami.

Special Thanks to Ranveer and Kids, who made the tour enjoyable and memorable
